Die Gutsweine wachsen in Weinbergen rund um Saulheim. Die Böden sind geprägt von Kalkstein-Sedimenten und Löss-Lehm Auflagen.
Ausbau
Nach selektiver Lese in mehreren Schritten wurden die Beeren im Keller leicht angequetscht und direkt gepresst. Der Most wurde mit natürlichen Hefen aus dem Weinberg über 6 Wochen in 85% Edelstahl und 15% älteren Holzfässern (Deutsche Eiche) vergoren und nach 6-monatiger Vollhefelagerung im April 2025 abgefüllt.
Weinbeschreibung
In der Nase reifer Weinbergspfirsich und Zitrus unterlegt von wilden Aromen der Spontangärung und feiner Hefewürze. Am Gaumen perfekte Balance von reifer Frucht und Säure. Puristischer Stil. Ein klassischer „Rheinriesling", der Leichtigkeit, Eleganz und Mineralität der Kalksteinböden in sich trägt.

The 2024 Riesling was picked from younger vines in Saulheim and Essenheim. This has a lovely
overtone of flint. The palate is wonderfully taut and tense. It trembles with notes of green apple and
lemon. The finish is absolutely zesty with a vivid sense of grapefruit peel. (Bone-dry)

Drinking window: 2024 - 2030
The 2023 Riesling was picked from younger vines in Saulheim and Essenheim. After a few hours of skin
contact, it was fermented in 80% stainless steel and 20% used Stück. Animating freshness on the nose
reminds of crunchy red-green apple, both tart and ripe, with a lovely citrus edge. The palate is dry,
immensely juicy, vivid and mouthwateringly fresh. This is pristine, with a lovely flow. (Bone-dry)

2022 Riesling – 87 points
The 2022 Riesling is harvested in Saulheim and Essenheim in younger vineyards that average ten to
12 years old. Eighty-five percent was fermented in stainless steel, 15% in used Stück and stayed on
gross less until bottling. The nose is redolent of very ripe fruit: juicy, golden pear, with a touch of
pear skin, alongside peach. The palate is juicy, fresh and mellow on the mid-palate. On the finish,
slight phenolics come to the fore alongside pleasant zestiness – a wine a bit like the year: ripe first,

Man staunt immer wieder aufs Neue, wenn man diese herrlichen Gutsweine probiert. Beim Genuss-Preis-Verhältnis sind sie einfach unschlagbar. Herrlich frischer und zitrischer Duft nach Zitrone und Grapefruit, verbunden mit zarter Würze und herrlicher Mineralität. Das ist ein richtiger Strahlemann, der enorm viel Genuss bereitet. Am Gaumen mit schönem Schmelz und knackiger Säure, versprüht überall seine Lebensfreude. Ist im Auftakt noch die wunderschön gereifte Frucht im Vordergrund, kommt zum Abgang hin immer stärker die Mineralität zur Geltung. Ein exzellenter Gutswein Riesling. (pb)
