Herkunft
Pinot Noir pur!

The vibrant sour cherry aromas are beautifully interwoven with lovely creaminess, fine tannins and chalky
minerality. I love what the energetic acidity does for the long finish of this slightly cloudy beauty. From
organically grown grapes. Matured for 18 months in well-used, small oak casks. Unfiltered. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Spätburgunder is from mixed German and French genetics. It matured for 18 months in used,
small barrels. The reduction is still vivid on the nose, with a touch of raspberry, cherry lift and some
headiness. The palate is light, bright and brimming with juiciness. Underneath it all is fi

For an entry-level wine, this is astonishingly good. Very fragrant, with a wealth of black cherry and violet aromas plus delicate spice and savory notes. What beautiful balance this has on the structured yet silky medium-bodied palate. The notes of licorice and cloves add complexity to the very long, silky finish. Matured in used barriques. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Spätburgunder is from a mix of German and French genetics. Fully destemmed and
fermented in open cuve, it matured for 18 months in used barrique. A touch of smoke wraps itself
around aromatic wild cherry. Cool, smooth balance is immediately apparent on the palate—coolness,
in fact, is the operative term, even in this warm year. Fully ripe tannins brush like starched velvet,
rounded but really fine. The wild cherry aroma is beguiling and pure, while the freshness is pristine,
pure and expressive. My oh my, this is quite a number for an estate Pinot Noir. (Bone-dry)

This stunning pinot noir from the challenging 2021 vintage redefines the German entry level red wine
category thanks to its astonishing structure and concentration. Wonderful sour cherry and forest
berry fruit, with such fine tannins and a spectacular length at the vibrant finish. Some GGs don’t get
close to this! From organically grown grapes. Matured for 18 months in barriques. Unfiltered. Vegan.
Drink or hold.

The 2021 Spätburgunder was harvested in the cool early morning in Saulheim from younger vines of both French and German genetics. The fruit was de-stemmed and fermented spontaneously, followed by 18 months in barriques and a further two months in steel, then bottled unfiltered. The nose sports Amarena cherry, cocoa, Ceylon tea and pepper alongside juicy mulberry fruit. The palate is immediately peppery, wonderfully taut and very contained, with a crunchy structure and bright freshness. Rather a cut above your usual estate Pinot. Respect. (Bone-dry)

What a stunning nose of forest berries, black cherries, fresh mint, tarragon and smoke. Stunning concentration, fleshiness and freshness for this humble category. Excellent length too. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

"Explosive sour-cherry, floral and bitter-chocolate nose. Concentrated and fleshy, but with fine tannins and lively acidity that give this so much energy at the long finish."

"A wonderfully fragrant pinot noir that you could easily mistake for Volnay village, this is very elegantly proportioned for the humble category. Love the way the rather fine tannins support the long, dry finish. Drink or hold."

"The period of over-oaked German Pinot Noirs has been replaced with a more elegant, fresher style. Good-value Pinots are hard to find, but this entry-level from Thörle is exceptional. It's focused with refreshing raspberry and damson fruit, and grippy tannins are nicely balanced on a meaty palate. 18/20" Wir freuen uns über die großartige Bewertung von 92 Punkten

"Zestier and more herbaceous than Thörle's other Spätburgunder bottlings, this bristling red offers loads of cool, crisp black cherry and cranberry flavors. Hints of smoked nut and mint lend depth to the mid palate, augmented by fine-grained, persistent tannins. It's a penetrating wine that still needs time but should improve through 2025." ANNA LEE C.
